John Martin is easily the hardest worker in the room. Before working long shifts with his business Hubby for Hire, he comes into the gym at 6:30 am and puts in hard work here. Always jovial, encouraging, and excited to be here, even when ‘complaining’ about the WOD, John is a wonderful member here at CFIO.
John just recently completed our 28 Day Nutrition Challenge where he lost 9 pounds of fat, an inch in his waist and gained 8 pounds of muscle!
We asked him a few questions about why he chooses CFIO:
I am so ready to come and work out in the mornings. My wife, Sue, started this ball rolling several months ago by enrolling in the “NEW YOU” course…and…she was enthralled with how she felt and the results she was seeing in herself. She subsequently exhorted me to try it out….which I did. What follows..the 5 specific questions you posed to me…are the results so far from my experience with CFIO.
1. HOW HAS CFIO CHANGED YOUR LIFESTYLE?
CFIO has had such a positive change in how my wife and I now live. We eat differently and are much more aware of what we eat and how much we eat at a time. We both have lost weight and are in different size clothes now too. We are trying to eliminate as much sugar as possible and it’s been paying off. We also plan our day around our 6:30 Sunrise WOD. That workout energizes us for the day making our days flow better.
2. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF CFIO?
I was kind of skeptical about my ability to be able to perform these movements because of my age and the amount of time that has past since I worked out last…about 25 years. The methods that CFIO uses enables newbies…like me…to ease into a routine that’s safe and within my scope of will and ability.
3. WHAT’S BEEN THE BIGGEST CHANGE YOU’VE SEEN SINCE STARTING CFIO?
I have the confidence to do my workouts now knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are. I’ve lost inches…gained muscle mass..lost fat and some weight and that is a big plus. I have more energy and stamina to do my daily work with my business….another big plus.
4. WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I’m still trying to pare my weight down. It’s still about how and what to eat mostly. I do have some shoulder and knee issues from just living life..and I do stretching exercises to get more flexibility when I have a hard time with some lifting movements.
5. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CFIO MEMORY?
I’d say it’s the total commitment of the coaches to ensure the workouts are safe and that I’m doing them correctly. All of the coaches are patient with me…but they also recognize my strengths and coax me to do my very best…while working diligently to help me with my weaknesses. I enjoy the whole CFIO family and love cutting up when allowed to….ha…just breathe John…only 43 more reps to go.. 🙂
