Small Yet Mighty – Becca Jenkins

Becca is straight up awesome! Since she first joined group CrossFit classes following the New You Challenge, she has been so open to coaching cues and down right motivated in every workout. She chooses consistently to work on her form day in and day out and, as a result, her intensity in workouts has exponentially increased.

We all vividly remember her getting her first pull-up with 2 weeks of starting group CrossFit classes and ever since then she just continues to grow!

Don’t let Becca fool you. She is a beast and we absolutely love having her at CrossFit Inside Out!

We asked her a few questions about why she continues to choose CFIO:

How has CrossFit Inside Out changed your lifestyle?

Joining CrossFit Inside Out has shifted my relationship with fitness and with performing daily activities. Before, I would go to the gym or a workout class, with no real intention to push myself or grow. I did it more for the fun and to be around people, but knew at the end of the day this was not very beneficial for me personally. Since starting CrossFit I find myself making goals well before I walk in the door, and I hold myself to them throughout the whole workout. That hour is my favorite time of the day! In my daily life, I am motivated to do things I normally would not have done 6 months ago. I walk or run places that I used to drive to, and enjoy it! I carry the 40 lb bag of dog food out to my car instead of wheeling it. Joining the CrossFit Inside Out community has made me a stronger person, physically and mentally.

What was your first impression of CFIO?

Everyone was so friendly and encouraging. It is a judgement free zone. During the New You classes the other members would stop for a second to cheer us on. I thought this was so awesome. These people don’t even know my name, and they are pushing me to be better. That’s when I knew this was the gym for me!

What’s been the biggest change you’ve seen since starting CrossFit Inside Out?

My physical and mental strength has improved tremendously. I believe in myself and my abilities more than I ever have.

What are you working on right now?

Double unders- stringing them together, rather than getting 1 or 2 in between singles
Toes to bar- working on the progression right now, getting there!

What’s your favorite CFIO memory?

My favorite memory goes all the way back to the 2017 CrossFit games. My first real CrossFit workout was 17.1 of the games. I had no idea what I was getting myself into that night, but knew I didn’t want to stop after completing the New You Challenge. My judge, Lauren, pushed me through the entire workout and I was so surprised that I even finished! The next week I got my first pull up while everyone cheered me on.
I am so happy to be a part of this gym and community.

This dumbbell weighs almost as much as she does. Becca was crushing these goblet squats. #thegymthatfindsyourhappy

  1. Our daughter has always been one to push herself in everything she does. So Im not surprised at how well she has done here. Since starting your gym though; I have seen her confidence levels go up and her stress has all but disappered.

  2. You go girl!!! That’s exciting to see you’re doing Crossfit now. Maybe someday I’ll drop into your box. AWESOME – Keep it up!!!
