Sarah Wiggins started as one of our quietest members when she first joined. Now the true, outgoing Sarah has really emerged! We love having her in group classes. One of the things that stands out with Sarah is that she ALWAYS stays after class to do extra credit work. She is focused, determined, and strong!
While college is one of the greatest times in one’s life, finding balance between studies, work, and taking care of yourself is very difficult. Sarah overcomes that obstacle daily and is one of our most consistent members.
We asked Sarah why she continues to choose CFIO as her home gym:
How has CrossFit Inside Out changed your lifestyle?
Being involved in sports for as long as I can remember, I have been active and have tried living a healthy lifestyle but am human and have gotten off track many times. Being an exercise science student and now having earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, I always felt somewhat of a hypocrite knowing I wasn’t taking care of my body like I should. I now look forward to getting a daily workout and seeing all the friends I have made at the gym. I am so thankful for everyone at CFIO that has cheered me on along the way and for the coaches who always encourage me and set the bar higher for me than I would for myself.
What was your first impression of CFIO?
When I first started at CFIO I was nervous for my first class but then realized very quickly how nice and encouraging everyone was.
What’s been the biggest change you’ve seen since starting CrossFit Inside Out?
I definitely have more confidence in myself and even though I have a long way to go to get to where I want to be physically, I now try to stay positive about where I am and just keep working hard. Also, doing CrossFit has been a good stress relief and has decreased my anxiety.
What are you working on right now?
I have been working on abs a lot as well as pushing myself to be in better overall shape for my upcoming mission trip to Haiti.
What’s your favorite CFIO memory?
One of my favorite memories was when my team (Team Twerk & Jerk) wore togas and did the Wobble at the CF Open. Also, after being one of the last ones to finish almost every workout since I started CrossFit I recently finished a couple of workouts at the front of the pack and one of the coaches said, “You’re done being last in the workouts; you’ve found your rhythm.” He also said, “Sometimes though you’re going to be the windshield in some workouts and the bug in others.”
